Recommended Reading

If you are not in counsellor training but have an interest in the person-centred approach, you may want to read something about it in order to learn more about the core conditions of Congruence, Empathy and Unconditional Positive Regard.

Carl Rogers is a good place to start and often the first book recommended is On Becoming a Person. Or you might enjoy The Carl Rogers Reader, edited by Howard Kirschenbaum and Valerie Land Henderson.

You may also want to try:

Person Centred Therapy Today, by Dave Mearns and Brian Thorne

Person-Centred Counselling in a Nutshell, by Roger Casemore

Learning and Being in Person Centred Counselling, by Tony Merry
