Face-to-face meetings are held on the second Saturday of every month at the
Friends Meeting House, Belmont Road, Uxbridge UB8 1QU.
There is a charge of £10.00 per session to cover hire of the room, tea/coffee, website costs and any additional expenses. If £10.00 is difficult for you please pay whatever you can - it is more important that you attend.
Over time we have evolved a fairly structured format for meetings which seems to work best. Meetings are not facilitated or chaired, but one of the Coordinating Group usually keeps an eye on times. We hope to provide the core conditions throughout meetings.
Tea and coffee available.
Any practicalities relating to the running of the group. We have a small Coordinating Group who organise matters such as booking the room. Anyone is welcome to join the CG.
An opportunity for people to say anything they would like at the start of the meeting. There is no obligation to speak at this time and you can always check in later.
Occasionally we start with a theme, chosen in the previous meeting, but very often we vote for “no theme”. We hope that process time allows us to meet at relational depth.
An opportunity to say anything you want at the end of the meeting.
Again, there is no obligation to speak
Everyone needs to be involved in clearing up.
We also meet on line, via Zoom, on the fourth Saturday of each month. Zoom is a free app for video conferencing and you will need a device with a web camera and microphone.
On-line meetings allow us to welcome people from all over the world. Once you have signed up to become a member you will receive a monthly email reminder with the Zoom link.
Fees: For people who attend the Zoom session but do not attend the in-person meeting, we are suggesting a voluntary contribution of £30 per annum. We do not insist on payment but it helps support the continuation of the group and maintenance of the website.
Meeting Schedule below.
Time to check equipment, meet others, settle in - just as we might in a geographical location.
A short break will be taken at some point, usually at 11.00am
The group has a confidentiality agreement which has evolved over time. We specify that it is OK to discuss the meeting with your supervisor and/or therapist and also to discuss on your journey home if travelling with others from the group - as long as you are not overheard.
The confidentiality agreement applies equally to Zoom meetings. Please ensure that your environment is safe and unlikely to be overheard or witnessed by non-participants. There is a mandatory requirement to refrain from recording any part of the meetings.
Subject to unintentional error, emails will be sent to group members using the “blind copy” facility. Your email address will not be shared without your permission.
