Welcome to the Hillingdon Person-Centred Group

About Us

Our group is for anyone interested in the Person-Centred Approach, as developed by American psychologist Carl Rogers.   You may be a counsellor already, or you may be in training. You may be neither, but would like to participate in a group encounter in a Person-Centred environment. Either way you are welcome.
You do not need to be a member of The Person-Centred Association (The PCA) to join our meetings, nor do you need to live or work in Hillingdon. The group plans and facilitates its own direction to meet the needs of group members. Sometimes we choose a theme or subject and see where the process takes us.

Location & Venue

Location & Venue

Each month there is both a face-to-face meeting and an on-line meeting via Zoom.   Anyone interested in the person centred approach is welcome and the on-line meeting is open to people from all over the world.  The face-to-face meeting is held on the second Saturday of each month in Uxbridge and the on-line meeting on the fourth Saturday.  You are welcome to attend either or both meetings.

What to expect

If you are interested, but have no experience of Person-Centred group work, please be aware that you might find it difficult or challenging at first. For that reason, we do advise that it is beneficial to have some knowledge of the approach and the core conditions.

Issues are raised and experience shared in what we hope and intend to be an atmosphere of openness and mutual trust, but sometimes conflict arises and feelings are hurt. Group members in training or in practice usually have the support of a personal counsellor and/or supervisor. We suggest you consider beforehand where you might take any difficult feelings or issues that arise for you.  You might wish to consult a counsellor, and could do so by searching for one local to you.
